NEWS: Two more in at Flyers

FIFE FLYERS have added to their roster with the signings of 25 year old American Casey Haines and experienced British forward John Dolan.

Dolan, 31, joins Fife from Elite League Gardiner Conference rivals Dundee Stars after having spent 10 of his past 11 season playing for the Tayside club.

He recorded an impressive 46 points (17 goals + 29 assists) last season, more than double his points production from his previous EIHL campaign in 2010-11 when he registered 21 points, coming from 12 goals and nine assists.

Haines, from Indiana Pennsylvania, iced with the ECHL Reading Royals and was called up to their AHL affiliate team Norfolk Admirals last season.

He registered 34 points (11 goals & 23 assists) with the Royals in 54 games during 2011/12 and was the teams sixth top point scorer, matching his points total from his first professional season in 2010/11 which he totalled 34 points (18 goals & 16 assists).

Player/coach Todd Dutiaume confirmed his delight in concluding deals for both players as his rebuilding of the Flyers continues.

He said: “Casey has come from a good strong season with Reading Royals in the ECHL and was called up to the AHL to Norfolk, which shows you the calibre of player we are getting with him.

“The guys we spoke to about Casey all said the same sort of things in that he is a great guy with the leadership qualities we are looking for and will be a good fit for the Fife organisation.

“John Dolan is a guy we know very well at Fife and a guy who has often been a thorn in our sides. He had an exceptional season last year having got 46 points for Dundee.

"That was something we lacked from our forwards last season, putting up solid numbers. The guys on our team know John and they all get along so it will be an easy fit for him coming in.

“His signing will shows we are serious about not sitting back this year and the directors have been great letting us get a British player of his quality in to the club. John will also push on some of our own local boys and will help us generate more offense.”

Dutiaume also confirmed that further signings are also expected to be finalised very soon with discussions with further imports at advanced stages.
